In case you are you looking for some creative ways to add style and flavor to your edit while switching between shots, you’ve just come to the right place. Typically, those type of premade transitions can run you a significant amount of money, which is ridiculous considering that more often than not you’ll need the effect to move from one shot to another just once. So, what if you could get a set of transitions that are not only high-quality and versatile but also absolutely free of charge?
Avid YouTuber Kyler Holland has generously released another stellar pack of striking transitions for Premiere Pro CC that play on different exposure and image color settings, giving you various methods of transitioning between a vast array of shots.
Inside of the transitions pack, you’ll find 25 transition effects that you can use in any of your projects. The style of the transitions primarily manipulates the exposure, saturation, and color channels of your clips which can lead to some stylistic and intriguing effects, depending on how you use them. The pack is available for free through this link, although if you want to support Kyler’s work, you can choose to donate what you believe is reasonable for his effort.
Once you’ve got the pack downloaded, unzip the downloaded file and inside of Premiere Pro CC, head over to the Effect Tab. Under Effects, right click on the tab and go to Presets > Import Presets and then navigate to the location of the transition pack files. That will import all the transition presets so that you can easily use them in your current and future projects.

To take advantage of any of these transition presets, first you will need to create an adjustment layer since, obviously, this is not a typical transition effect. Once you do so, you should place the adjustment layer in between the clips you want to transition, making the layer last for around 80 frames (40 for the first clip, 40 for the second). All that’s left to do is to select a preset and apply it to the adjustment layer.
The great thing about this pack (besides the fact that won’t cost you a dime) is the ability to customize the look of each transition. While there are many presets created by Holland (varying in speed, intensity, and color effect), you can go in and adjust any of the transitions if the current presets don’t fit your needs.
To do so, click on the adjustment layer and access the Effect Controls panel where you’ll see multiple options to tweak parameters such as speed ramping and color effects. Again, all the credit goes to Kyler Holland for creating this awesome pack and sharing it with the community.

Working quickly and efficiently in post is an essential aspect of the creative process, especially when you need to deal with demanding customers and tricky projects with tight turnarounds. Due to the excellent work of seasoned video editor and filmmaker Kyler Holland, you can now take your edits to the next level by downloading a variety of seamless zoom, spin, and slide custom transitions at no additional cost.
These presets can not only be easily added to your edit in Premiere Pro CC but also can speed up your work in the editing bay immensely. The video below explains how to get the most out of these transitions and showcases what you can do with them in different scenarios and situations.
Before you download the pack, make sure you use the 100OFF code to be able to get it free of charge. Once you download and unzip the file, navigate to the Effects tab in Premiere Pro CC, right click on presets, choose Import Presets and head over to the location on your computer where you have stored the downloaded file.
The great thing about the custom preset pack is that it contains both 1080p and 4K versions of each custom transition which should make it easier for you when applying them to your edit. Once you have picked a suitable transition, place the play head right on a cut between the two clips you have chosen.
Then press the Shift key and the left arrow key twice to go ten frames in thе respective direction. Hold Command + K to cut the clip and repeat the same steps with the clip on the right side accordingly. Now create a nested sequence of these small cuts by choosing any of the smooth transitions containing 20FRAMES in their name.
Keep in mind that you need to create a nested sequence only when utilizing the longer transitions. For rest of the presets, you can drag and drop the transitions directly to the ten frames portion at the end of each clip that you have cut on your timeline. As you can see, applying these transitions can be done almost instantly thus saving you the extra hassle of dealing with multiple layers and settings along the way.
Of course, all credit goes to Kyler Holland for the excellent work on this striking transition pack. If you want to get more of these great creative assets, make sure you also check out the rest of the digital products that Holland offers on his website here.
